PNGAA 73rd AGM & Luncheon
The 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Papua New Guinea Association of Australia, Incorporated will be held in Sydney on Sunday, 5 May 2024 at the Hornsby RSL, 4 High Street, Hornsby, NSW, commencing at 11:30 am.
The PNGAA has invited a guest speaker from Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) to speak about our contemporary relationship with PNG. We hope members will come along and support this special occasion which will also provide an opportunity to ask a few questions. With the 50th anniversary of PNG independence in 2025, this is a timely lead up to be present. Having this direct engagement has previously provided interesting fresh perspectives and initiated some robust discussion which has been much enjoyed by all attending.
Make sure you put the date in your diary now and ensure you get your RSVP in quickly! It’s a good reason to visit Sydney and get together with other PNGAA members!
We look forward to seeing as many PNGAA members as possible at this annual event of the Association.
We are delighted to have Ms Joanne Sharpe as our Guest Speaker at the Lunch. Ms Sharpe is the Director PNG Strategy & Planning for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Her insights into the Australia-PNG strategic partnership will be really interesting to hear and how it has impacted PNG. Ms Sharpe will speak for about 20 minutes, and then there will be time for questions.
A luncheon has been arranged after the AGM starting at approximately 12:45 pm. Details are provided below. As this is a non-voting year for the management committee, the meeting should not take long and there will be plenty of time for chatting and networking.
