Exploration geologist working mainly on early exploration of the Frieda River porphyry copper – gold prospect in upper Sepik as well as some regional work near Bundi and Wutong. Rented premises in Madang in 1970 to set up a laboratory on Binnen Point. Oversaw the construction of CEC company houses at Newtown and a labora tory/exploration office in the Madang industrial area. Ran the lab until 1975.

Returned to Madang in 1984 to commercialise the laboratory as Astrolabe Analytical. Involved in the analytical work for the Porgera gold mine feasibility study and staffed a lab on site while the mine was undergoing development. Also ran site laboratories for other small operations. Became part of the Highlands Gold group when that company was formed and ran laboratories in Lae and Port Moresby before transferring to Indonesia with HGL in 1993.
